Ty, a Kentucky native, was born for the good life in California. About 15 years ago, while exploring the culture of Los Angeles, he fell in love with the city’s food scene, sliced and diced his way to a degree in culinary arts, and then worked as a chef/restaurateur and private chef for elite clientele. Weekends in Palm Springs led Ty and his now-husband to their first midcentury home purchase — and full immersion in every nuanced facet of the local market. Ty’s transition into real estate in 2012 came naturally. More than a connection to the historical and trend-setting houses that TTK represents, Ty joined the firm to cultivate relationships based around a shared awe and fascination for the area. For Ty, who holds a degree in mechanical engineering from University of Louisville, the desert lifestyle, with its roots in tribal Indian culture, Hollywood glamour, and modern architecture, provides a bright backdrop for creative and professional trailblazing.
